LA - English UL - http://discoverylib.upm.edu.my/discovery/Record/16523 AB - The main purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between purchase intentions and buying behavior of organic food amongst household in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. The study determined the relationship respondents demographic background, environmental attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control and purchase intentions of organic food. Next, the study reveals the predictors of purchase intentions and buying behavior of organic food. A total of 100 respondents, the main decision maker of household buying participated in this study and data was collected using self-administrated questionnaires. Results from Pearson Correlation indicate significant relationship between respondent's age, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control with purchase intentions of organic food. Result from t-test analysis indicates a differentiation between purchase intention and buying behavior of organic food. The differentiation is because of the respondent's age, household income, level of education, attitudes towards environment and subjective norms. Results from Logistic regression analysis shows that there were three significant predictors, respondent's age (p<0.0 1), household income per month (p<0.05) and subjective norms of respondent (p<0.01) that are significant for determining purchase intentions among respondents. This analysis result also shows that there were five significant predictors for determining buying behavior of organic food amongst household in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur which are respondent's age (p<0.01), the respondent's level of education (p<0.05), respondent's attitude towards environment (p<0.01), respondent's subjective norms (p<0.05) and also respondent's purchase intentions (p<0.001).
