LA - English UL - http://discoverylib.upm.edu.my/discovery/Record/278257 AB - PVA / Silver Nitrate composites films were prepared by solvent-casting technique. The samples were synthesized with 5.0 g Polyvinyl Alcohol (PA) dissolved in 250 ml distilled water (H2O). PVA and H2O were stirred until completely dissolved and divided into 5 parts. Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) with different amounts was added into the PVA solution. The amounts of AgNO3 used were 0.0 mg, 0.1 mg, 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg and 1.5 mg. That solution was continuously stirred to ensure a homogenous composition of the solution. The solution was poured in casting glass plates and left to dry at room temperature for more than 10 days. After drying, the films were stripped from the casting glass plates and cut into 5 parts. Each part of the films was radiated with various doses from 0 kGy to 60 kGy. The thickness of the samples is measured using a digital micrometer. The dielectric properties and electrical conductivity were investigated using LCR meter. In dielectric studies, relative permittivity and loss factor is found to increase with gamma dose. The ac conductivity is directly proportional to the frequency and dc conductivity is found to increase with gamma dose. CN - FS 2008 119 ER -
