It involves fiequent and intensive usage of vehicles that often result in significant exposure of driver to multiple factors (exposure to whole body vibration (WBV), duration of driving, duration of employment and awkward driving posture) which are consider risks factor for low back pain (LBP). Objectives: To determine the relationship between whole body vibrations (WBV) and its association with prevalence and risk factor of LBP among crane operator at the construction site. Methodology: Cross sectional study was conduct at the different construction site in Selangor (Puchong and Subang Jaya). A self - administered questionnaire and Human Vibration Meter is use in this study. A total 100 mobile crane operators where are divided into work phase displacement while empty and displacement with load. WBV is measured according to the ISO 2361/1(1997) and EU Directive (2002). Result and Discussion: There are differences between work phase where, the vibration exposure for displacement with load was higher than displacement while empty and the exposure were also exceed the Action Value (EU Directive, 2002). More than 90% of the mobile crane operator had prevalence of low back pain and the body parts that have highest of low back pain is at the lower back (92%) and followed by neck (82%). In Multivariate Logistic Regression analysis, only marital status and physical activity were found significantly associated with LBP outcome which is p-value <0.05. Meanwhile, the occupational risk in Univariate analysis and Multivariate Regression Analysis its shows that high significant of having LBP outcome between duration of driving and daily WBV exposure of crane that displacement with load which is the p-value <0.001. Conclusion and recommendation: This study concluded mobile crane operators have higher risk of getting low back pain. Therefore, it is recommended that the regular maintenance of machine and selection of appropriate seat for operator should be taken in consideration.
