The main causes of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases are strongly related to aging, urbanization, sedentary life style, obesity, and alcohol consumption. This study is to identify the prevalence and the associated factors of hypertension among medical students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia Serdang. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted. Self-administered questionnaire was used to obtain information on socio demography, fa"!1ily history of hypertension, smoking and physical activity. Height, weight and blood pressure were taken and Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated. All data were analysed using SPSS version 2].
