AB  - Investigations were done at three different slaughter ages: 10, 15 and 20 weeks. Results obtained were then compared to those of a broiler strain at the same ages and reared simultaneously under the same management and feeding. The weight of 'Kampung' chickens and yields of carcass increased with increasing age but the quality of meat was not significantly affected except for tenderness which decreased with increasing age. Under the same management and feeding 'Kampung' chickens were inferior to the broilers in terms of carcass characteristics but the quality of meat was the same for birds of the same age
