Streszczenie:In order to maintain the stability of the PME storage tank various tests have been conducted to determine the most suitable construction material. The storage stability ofB100 palm methyl esters (PME) has been carried out at commercial storage tanks with the help of a local biodiesel manufacturer in Malaysia. This .field test was carried out from 6 August 2007 to 10 March 2008 (8 months) in two storage tanks located within the biodiesel plant. The tests were carried out using 2 different construction materials for the tank which are stainless steel and mild steel. The mild steel test was conducted from 12 May 2010 to 11 July 2010 (3 months). The critical parameters tested were acid number (ASTM D 664) and water content (EN ISO 12937), which are closely related to the production process and ageing / degradation of fuel during storage.
