Most of research works were aimed to control this insects. For non-chemical control, a mixture of maize grain with ash (from rice husk), lime, rock phosphate and castor oil are recommended at farmers' level. In chemical control, and chlorpyrifos, fenitrothion and phoxim are recommended to use only on seed grain while pirimiphos methyl, tetrachlorvinphos, malathion, deltamethrin and cepermethrin could be applied on grain as well as seed. Methyl bromide is widely used as fumigant in commercial scales KW - Zea mays KW - Sitophilus KW - Fumigants KW - Grain ER -
