Optical properties of (CuO)x(CaO) 0.3-x (P2O5) 0.7 glasses /

Calcium phosphate glasses were prepared in the different mol of CuO in order to investigate their optical properties in the ultraviolet, visible ranges and determine thermal diffusivity. The optical absorption spectra were recorded on a uv-visible spectrophotometer at the room temperature. The uv-vi...

The optical absorption spectra were recorded on a uv-visible spectrophotometer at the room temperature. The uv-visible absorption measurement show that the value of optical band gap dependent on the glass composition. Optical band gap increased with the decrease of Cu+ contents. The photoacoustic technique was used to determine thermal diffusivity. The measurement of the photoacoustics signal as a function of the modulated frequency in the region where thermal diffusion length equals to the sample thickness. The measurement was carried out at the room temperature.
