Kappaphycus alvarezii were cultured in tap water and rain water with salinity 20, 30 and 40 psu for 71 days. Fragment size of K. alvarezii were cultured in Hoagland solution. In present study new protrubances of K. alvarezii emerge at the tip of the branch, broken thallus or body of the thallus. Tap water with salinity 40 psu maintained the sample for 71 days of culture. Although it did not give any increase in daily growth rate (DGR%), but compared to the other medium, it gave lower decrease in daily growth rate. For the Hoagland solution experiment, the results showed that the medium, Hoagland solution was not suitable for culturing the K. alvarezii.
