Summary:Local vegetables are vey important in our life and also contributing to our health and supply nutrition. The continuous supplier and demnad for local vegetables in Bintulu market keep increasing every year due to new development and population of people. This study was conducted in Bintulu market to identified common local factors of local vegetables in Bintulu market and to determine the acceptance and utilization factors of local vegetables by consumers. In order to complete this research, 100 respondents had been interviewed using questionaire form in Bintulu market. The questionaires were divided into three parts including demography, local vegetables type and influencing acceptance and utilization factors of local vegetables among consumer in Bintulu market. The results of this study show consumers consumed fifteen types of local vegetables. Among those local vegetables, miding (Stenochlaena palustris) was the highest selected by respondents in leafy vegetables with percentage about 23.76%, fruity vegetables was terung dayak (Solanum aethiopicum) with percentage around 22.00% and rhizome vegetables group was ginger (Zingiber officinale) with percentage 33.44%. Taste is the main acceptance and utilization factor of the local vegetables by consumers in Bintulu market.
