Description
Summary:To clarify a problem of nitrate accumulation in the pineapple fruit causing detinning in pineapple cannery industry, the cultivation of pineapple with the applications of N-P-K,12-1215 (control) and the combinations of N-P-K with either trace elements (Mo, Mo, Mg), KCI or compost was conducted. At the harvesting stage, nitrate content,% brix and pH of pineapple fruits were detected. There was a tendency of a reduction of nitrate content in fruit due to some trace elements, especially Mo at the rate of 625 g Mo/ha. Moreover, a late application of excess N after flower induction 2.5 and 4.5 months induced a higher nitrate accumulation in fruit up to 2.5 and 9.0 times of the control's respectively.
