Effects of periodic feeding on the performance of broiler chickens [Malaysia]
Two experiments were carried out to determine the effect of various durations of periodic feeding during the cooler periods of the day on broiler performance. Birds restricted to 3 hr of feeding per day were not able to consume their daily requirement of feed for growth. On periodic feeding schedule...

On periodic feeding schedules of 4,5 or 6 hr per day, broilers consumed significantly less feed (P0.05) than those on 12 hr feeding (control) without adverse effects on the body weight. A trend of improved feed conversion efficiency was observed with the periodic feeders compared to the control birds.
